Home and family living fosters study of the home as a
sacred center for everyday family life and as the basis for a vital community.
Theory, research, and practice are used to illuminate the value of everyday
home life to foster wellness and provident living in meeting practical family
needs such as feeding, housing, clothing, and finance.
3) Marriage, Family, and Human
Development (MFHD)
The MFHD program centers on theories, research, and
practices related to understanding and strengthening marriage and family life,
and optimal human development. Students learn about marital and family
processes that lead to healthy marriages and families, and how children, youth,
adults and families, develop, change, and face challenges throughout the life
course. The teaching strategy of faculty members in the School of Family Life
reflect a strong commitment to better critical thinking and problem-solving
